Ralph "Silver Star" Singer (born July 22nd, 1917) is an American former special agent of the United States Army. During World War II, he underwent an experimental procedure to become the country's first super soldier. The procedure was meant to increase his physical fitness, agility, and strength to super-human levels, but due to an accident during the procedure, his increased attributes were accompanied by a transformation of his skin into a silver metal.
Prior to undergoing his transformation, Singer stood 6'0" tall, had white skin and blond hair. After becoming Silver Star, his height increased to 6'5"
Silver Star possesses enhanced strength, speed, agility, endurance, reflexes, life span, and peak human-level fitness. Additionally, his skin has been transformed into a unique silver metal which he has a small amount of sontrol over.
In 1942, Ralph was hand selected to be the subject in Dr. Emerson Lynn's Project Guiding Star. Lynn's research believed he had uncoverered a means to transform Ralph into a super soldier. After agreeing to undergo the procedure, he was brought to a secret government facility where he was medically assessed.
During the initial assessement, the scientists overlooked small metal shards embedded in Singer's chest (an accident from before he was drafted). As a result, during the procedure, the metal shards reacted with the serum, nearly killing Singer.
When the scientists opened the transformation chamber, they were shocked to discover that not only had Singer undergone the expected physical enhancements, his skin had been transmuted into a silvery metal. Dr. Emerson Lynn was disgraced by the failure, and the government abandoned the project.
When Singer recovered from the trauma of the procedure, he was distraught by his transformation. Still, he soon rose to the mission presented in Project Guiding Star and took up the mantle of America's first, and only, super soldier: Silver Star.
